"oBack in 60s, when I was a student at University of Illinois, I had an incident that made me make a tough decision. During the summer break, the town would become empty because all the students would leave for home and only the foreign students would remain. I was at a coffee shop when a white man walked in and asked me, “You know why I hate this town?” I said “What can you hate about this town? It’s your town!” He replied “I hate it because during summer there are only dogs and foreigners left here”. That was when I told myself “I am not a dog” and requested for a transfer to Washington. My advisor asked me the reason for my transfer since I was doing well here so I told him “I don’t like this town, it has only dogs and white people in the summer”. Dr. Khedair Al-Khedair, today’s lecture for Industrial Sociology at KFUPM.

Dr. Khedair is currently a professor with the GS department at KFUPM. He has been the vice rector of KFUPM for 2 terms (11 years) and has been with KFUPM for 40 years now. I had the chance to take this course with him and he is one of those professors who makes you love going to morning lectures with a smile.
